Xian Lim is now in hot water after his apparent ‘rude’ behavior during a live episode of “Banana Nite” aired on ABS-CBN last Friday, January 30.
Lim readily acquired the ire of aggressive netizens when he poked fun at a Kim Chiu look-alike, Charmae Viking, who appeared during the actor’s production number.
Last year, Viking had the hosts of “It’s Showtime” mesmerize and throw good comments about her perfect copying of Chiu’s gestures, demeanor and also having a similar physique as the actress.
“Rude” behavior?
Live from the plaza of Sta. Cruz Church, Binondo, Lim performed the song “So It’s You” for the audience gathered at the church plaza.
However, the Kim Chiu look-alike went out onstage to join the actor. She moved towards Lim and even waved at him as the actor kept on singing.
Lim, meanwhile, seemed puzzled by the presence of the young girl onstage with him.
“Maraming, maraming salamat! Sino ‘to?”, he said out loud.
The actor continued to deliver his spiel thanking and greeting all the people who attended the event.
“Maraming, maraming salamat guys! Thank you so much! Siyempre, sa lahat ng nandito, Happy Chinese New Year po sa inyong lahat!”, he added
On the other hand, the Kim Chiu look-alike also greeted the crowd a Happy Chinese New Year.
Lim once again drew attention to his leading lady’s look-alike saying: ”Ang taas ng energy. Kamusta naman?”
The girl answered, “Okay naman.”
Mentioning a GMA talent, Lim said in jest: ”Anong ginagawa ni Bea Binene dito?”
“Thank you and have a wonderful Chinese New Year,” he told the audience.
When Lim was about to leave the stage, Jayson Gainza suddenly approached to chat with Lim and the Chiu’s look-alike.
Lim, on the other hand, continued to address her saying: “Nag-guest siya from GMA” and laughed again.
Gainza tried to change the topic by asking Lim to describe the preparations that he did for the Chinese New Year.
Lim responded by saying, “Paano maghahanda nandito pa tayo? Hindi ko pa alam pagkauwi ko mamaya. Malamang may handaan dun.”
The “Banana Nite” mainstay also asked the girl the same question but Lim interjected, “Tanungin natin kung anong teleserye niya sa GMA. Si Bea Binene.”

In time for the Chinese New Year countdown, Lim’s behavior caught the attention of the netizens and wondered if it was staged as part of the late-night comedy show.
